Previously known as Domaine Jean-Michel Stéphan, the arrival of two sons in the business led them to redefine their appellation: Maison Stéphan was born.

History

Jean-Michel Stéphan comes from a family of market gardeners and arboriculturists, through his father and great-grandfather. At the time of its creation, the winery consisted of 2 hectares of AOC Côte-Rotie sold to a local wine merchant. It was only in 1994 that the first bottles were marketed.

In 2017, Jean-Michel Stéphan joined forces with his son Romain to create Maison Stéphan and build its future. Then, in 2023, his second son Dorian Stéphan joined the family domaine to develop together this unique vision of their region.

Vin Nature

The Vin Nature concept originated with Jules CHAUVET, a Beaujolais wine merchant and scientist. The principle is to create a wine without any corrective products, to enhance digestibility and aromatic complexity. These are wines for pleasure, and can be laid down.

The AVN charter was created in the 2000s to provide a framework for production, educate consumers and ensure transparency on the part of the winemaker.

Côte-Rôtie

In our sunny Côte-Rôtie vineyards, we cultivate Syrah with passion. Each bottle is a balance between power and elegance, reflecting our quest for perfection and our respect for an exceptional terroir.

Condrieu

Our Condrieu wines showcase Viognier in all its splendor. Our wines, mirrors of a unique granite terroir, combine aromatic intensity and finesse, symbolizing our devotion to respectful, quality viticulture.
